The South Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (SCDHHS) is inviting the public to provide input on the South Carolina Rural Health Transformation Program (RHTP). As part of a statewide rural health assessment, SCDHHS is gathering perspectives from anyone with a connection to rural health in South Carolina, including health care providers, health care professionals, and residents.
The survey has two parts:
• Statewide rural health priorities. Share where you see the biggest gaps in rural health, where progress is being made, and where RHTP should focus its funding.
• Project-specific input. For RHTP-funded projects where you have direct experience, share what has worked well, what to watch out for, and any other input that could help shape South Carolina's approach.
The survey takes approximately five minutes to complete. All responses are anonymous. No individual responses will be shared or attributed. The survey closes next Friday, October 2, 2026.

The Vulnerable Adult Guardian ad Litem Program of South Carolina (VAGAL SC) is looking for dedicated volunteers to advocate for vulnerable adults, ages 18 and older, who are often victims of abuse, neglect, or exploitation and are in protective custody. As a VAGAL volunteer, you will have the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of vulnerable adults.
You'll build relationships with the adults and interact with their families, caregivers, social workers, and healthcare providers. Your role will involve gathering important information about the adult's situation, exploring solutions to improve their well-being, and providing impartial recommendations to the South Carolina Family Court
